The old life is gone!

The Importance of Baptism
Why is baptism essential to our faith?
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the meaning of Baptism?
It represents Jesus Christ’s death and RESURRECTION.
“Christ died for our sins… He was buried…And He was raised on the third day.” – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
“For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with Him, you were raised to a new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.” – Colossians 2:12
It represents my NEW LIFE as a follower of Christ
“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” – Romans 6:4
Baptism is like a wedding ring: It’s the outward representation of the commitment you made in your heart to God. Baptism shows that you already believe, but doesn’t make you a believer. Baptism does not “save” you. Only Christ saves you by grace through faith in Him.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’”
Who should be baptized?
ANYONE who is a believer in Jesus Christ. “Those who accepted His message were baptized.” – Acts 2:41
Why should I be baptized?
To follow the example set by JESUS CHRIST.
“At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.” – Mark 1:9
Because Christ COMMANDS it.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:19-20
When should I get baptized?
As soon as you have believed! There is no reason to delay. As soon as you receive Christ into your life, you can – and should – be baptized. You can be a Christian without being baptized, but you can’t be an obedient Christian without following the Lord in the believer’s baptism.
I have already been baptized. Should I be baptized again?
Can my child be baptized?
Yes, your child can be baptized if they believe Jesus died for their sins, and they have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. Acts 2:38 teaches us that we should repent of our sins, turn to God, and be baptized. We encourage parents to have intentional conversations with their kids to ensure they understand what repentance means, and what baptism represents.
Can my infant be baptized?
In Luke 2:22-40, we see that Jesus’ parents dedicated him to the Lord, and he was later baptized as an adult (Matthew 3:16-17). Baptism is intended to be an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus and obey His commands (Matthew 28:19-20). The Bible teaches that we should repent of our sins, turn to God, and be baptized (Acts 2:38). Baptism without repentance is unproductive. It is our position that baptism be performed only on those who have confessed Jesus as their savior and repented of their sins.
We love to hear real stories about what God is doing in our church.
